Mama to Heidi, designer, artist, and sewer! Sue O’Very Designs (formerly Sealed With A Stitch®) is the headquarters for all things crafty and creative. From Sewing to crafts to machine embroidery and art, Sue loves creating and teaching it all! Sue began her professional career as a costume designer at Busch Gardens, Tampa, Fl. After years of working in the design field, Sue became a sales manager for a sewing machine dealer, and then served as a National Educator for Babylock, USA. After many years in the home sewing industry, Sue expanded her horizons to travel the globe and developed her expertise as a fashion and accessory designer. During that time, she gained more experience working with unique and challenging textiles including leather. After Heidi was born in 2009 Sue wanted nothing more than be a full time mom and began Sealed With A Stitch®, leaving the corporate world of fashion design behind.
Devoting all her time to being a mother and small business owner her brand grew from designs, to In The Hoop projects, sewing patterns, and in 2012, Sue introduced a new and clever line of Serge~Broidery® products merging the serger and embroidery machine to become “Best Friends” in creating beautiful works of art that cannot be completed without both machines! In 2015 there were more things Sue wanted to do. Still wants to do, art, photography, cooking…again, all things creative. This launched the new and improved brand, Sue OVery Designs.
Sue is a Craftsy instructor, YouTube teacher, Aurifil thread Designer spokesperson, published in dozens of articles for Designs in Machine Embroidery and Creative Machine Embroidery magazines. Sue continues to push the envelope of creativity, loves to draw, digitize, sew, and create new and different projects. What she loves even more is being with sewing students and machine embroidery enthusiasts. Sue’s real passion is sharing the tips, techniques, and tools that make sewing easy and fun. If you ever get the opportunity to meet Sue, you will find she is full of life, sewing knowledge, and a few jokes too!
