~Row by Row Sewing patterns and In the Hoop projects~
During the summer there is so much fun stuff to do to. Go to the beach, visit Disney World and take a road trip. For sewing and quilting enthusiast there is an exclusive event just for them. It’s called the Row by Row Experience. Created by Janet Lutz, owner of Calico Gals in Syracuse NY. It is a nationwide shop hop, with very few rules, which became an overnight sensation. Each state has a list of stores participating and it’s even gone global…Start HERE.
Since the beginning of Row by Row, Janet’s friend, Debra Gabel, owner of Zebra Patterns, created a line of fabric each season and these adorable Fabric Plates. During these past couple of years additional designers have created patterns featuring these Row by Row Fabric Plates, like myself. I am pleased to introduce them here – in PDF format for all those around the world to use.

License Plate Row by Row Patterns
There are 7 sewing patterns and 1 In the Hoop project. Check them all out below.
In the Hoop Project
BEST part, the patterns feature the Fabric Plates, but you are not limited to using them. In each set of instructions, I list out the actual measurements so you can use any fabric!
There are some fun new tricks and tips in these patterns not seen before.
What else do I need?
As mentioned above, you can use any fabric or print. Boarders go really good with these patterns in place of the Fabric Plates. Here are some of my favorites I found on line from Fabric.com.
Here are some more Row by Row prints from Amazon.
As always, I provide detailed instructions. Some are photographs, others are detailed illustrations. I must admit, I had a lot of fun with hardware on these projects. I featured Ghee’s and byAnnie’s hardware. Included are also the specs of the hardware so you can find something similar.
I’m a beginner, which one should I get?
These below two sewing patterns have continued to be our BEST sellers with the retail stores. The Cross body (on the right) is my favorite, because I actually use it all the time! It’s a great way to show off two of the Fabric Plates too! But all the patterns have terrific detailed instructions and I am only an email away if you get stuck.
I don’t have any Fabric Plates from Row by Row Experience
No worries, you can call around and see if your favorite stores are participating in the Row by Row experience. Some friends trade them, there are even Facebook Groups dedicated to the swapping of these Fabric Plates. When I am traveling I just pop into a quilt shop and ask if they have any Row by Row Fabric Plates. Just be warned this is a summer event. Plus you will most likely see my patterns in their shop. Then you can say, I know her 🙂
