No doubt, it’s such fun embroidering goodies for babies! Every time I hear of a friend having a baby my first thought goes to ~ “what can I make?”. In this tutorial, you will see how to embroider on two different types of baby pillowcases, a Hemstitched baby pillowcase, and a Swiss Dot pillow sham.

Press pillowcase or pillow sham. Note: Instructions will show the Pillowcase as the primary set of instructions to the left and the Pillow Sham to the right.
Mark embroidery design, the center of design area with clear marking stickers.
Remove seam for easy hooping. The pillowcase will be the lower seam and the pillow sham seams to remove are on the back, top, and bottom.
Hoop pillow with wash away stabilizer. Be sure not to hoop the back of the pillowcase or pillow sham. Inside the hoop, it should be the front of the pillow (the area to be embroidered and the wash away stabilizer).
Set up embroidery foot, needles, top embroidery thread, and bobbin thread.
Align design with the center of the marking sticker. Remove the sticker before embroidering. Follow design for color placement.
When embroidery is finished remove the hoop from machine and materials from the hoop.
With duckbill applique scissors cut around the wash away stabilizer, duckbill part of scissors will be closest to the pillowcase. Be careful not to cut the pillowcase.
Set up the machine for sewing with sewing thread at the top.
Resew the seams ripped out before. Careful to stitch over previous seams.
With lukewarm water remove all the wash away stabilizer. To dry pillowcase quickly put into a dryer for about 5-10 mins.
Once dry, press with a steam iron.
Once finished pressing the pillowcase or pillow sham, insert pillow form.
