Have you ever burned your finger tip when trying to iron a small area? Do you love English Paper piecing (EPP)? Are there times when you need to press a small area and keep it stiff? Today notions will help solve any of the issues with pressing small areas, keeping the areas nice and stiff for future use and they are super cool! Each week I review a new notion, tell you a bit about it and share how to use it. Today we are discussing the Finger Tip Stiletto and Starch Brush.
Missie Carpenter of Traditional Primitives! Missie is a pattern designer and notion inventor. Her focus is hand applique, punchneedle, English paper piecing and quilting. Missie is a clever lady indeed and has a wonderful supportive family. She is most known for her English Paper Piecing technqiue of using her Finger Tip Stiletto and Starch Brush. It’s so simple, you’re going to think, why didn’t I think of that before.
How to use
There are three separate components we are discussing:
- Finger Tip Stiletto
- Starch Brush
- Hexagon pressing mat
Honestly I got anxious before using these. I kept thinking I would mess up. Missie told me privately, “Sue, what’s the worse that could happen?”. I needed that reminder and just dove in. Watch the video for details on how to use these all together.
