Tabs – How to turn them right side out
Tiny Tabs tend to be Tricky to turn (say that fast five time)! When creating a purse, tote bag or messenger bag there are those tiny tabs we must turn (RS) Right Side out and it can be tricking. I just created an entire line of patterns for the Row by Row Experience and almost every pattern included TABS. After a few different experiments I found that my trusty Clover Wonder Clips were there to save the day once again!
Follow the video below for complete instructions – but here are the basic steps.
Fuse interfacing to the Wrong Side (WS) of the Tab
Fold in half and sew 1/2” SA.
Fold Seam allowance toward one side. Clip a Clover Wonder Clip to hold the seam allowance down. Wiggle the tab to being to turn it RS out (watch video below).
Slip Tab through D-Ring (or O-Ring). Align raw edges and baste.
Pretty simple yey! Now you give it a try next time you have a tiny tab to turn right side out and let me know how it worked for you.
By the way, here are the five new patterns I created for the Row by Row Experience. The cool part of these patterns is they are designed to use the FabricPlates created by Debra Gabel of Zebra Designs but get this…these patterns can use ANY print in place of the FabricPlates, so give them a try. Want to know where to find them? Ask your local quilt shop to order them direct from Checker Distributors, they are sold exclusively from them. Support your local quilt shops world wide during the Row by Row Experience during the summer months. For more information and details, go to
