~Easy Half Square Triangles – how to use the Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmers~
Quilting has been a fun hobby for me for years. I say hobby because I have not yet created a pattern or designed a block for a quilt. But never say never, right. Now that I have discovered these awesome new quilting notions, the Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmers, I am really enjoying making them. Even getting rather good at it, if I do say so myself. Let’s take a closer look at them now.
Who invented the Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmers?
The inventor is Kari Carr of New Leaf Stitches. She is a pattern and fabric designer and amazing teacher. She has been in the sewing industry many years and has traveled teaching her technique and showing her students her tricks. Check out her About us page at www.NewLeafStitches.com.
What do you get?
There are two trimmers. A and B. A is for the half inch and B is for the full inch. Between the two they will trim up to eleven (11) different sizes ranging from 1″-6.5″. This will eliminate the need for multiple rulers.
The marks are very clear and the instructions are actually printed right on the trimmers. The most unique feature are the slots on the outside edge. These are used to trim the dog ears at the same time as trimming the square. Super clever!! Basically with one alignment you can trim all four sides of your block. This eliminates the need to rotate and re-align.
